Situation
American Medical Response is a nationwide ambulance service provider. Their western regions have 18 district offices and their corporate headquarters is located in California. Prior to implementing LiveVault, AMR had staff at each location managing backups by replacing tapes every morning, taking tapes off-site and communicating with the LAN administrator at headquarters. The LAN administrator had to ensure that the backup was successful and remotely check the status of the servers, backup software and backup log. There was minimal trust in the quality of this backup strategy.
Solution
Langtech implemented LiveVault services for all servers at the district offices, which guaranteed that the data would be protected. As a result, the management and resources to oversee backups was drastically reduced.
Current Status
AMR has been using LiveVault services for close to a year, and every restore has been successful. The I.T. staff has been able to shift their focus to other, more productive tasks and provide better- and higher-quality services to their users and customers. |
