Situation
Derivium contracted with Landor Associates to reinvent themselves as a new-economy, financial-services provider. The main obstacle was time—2 months to implement for a January 1st launch. Derivium picked Langtech to work with Landor to rebrand, develop a new online business model, and launch the site.
Solution
Architecture: Derivium needed a solution that was scalable and secure, and could be rapidly deployed. Langtech picked Allaire's ColdFusion as the middleware and Microsoft SQL*Server for the back-end database.
Business Development: Derivium wanted an easy way for potential customers to test drive the product and compare it to other options. Langtech developed an easy, goal-oriented interface that allowed Derivium's prospective clients to enter the site, play with the business model and resulting numbers, and sign up for the service with a minimal amount of effort. Additionally, Langtech provided a method to remember prospective customers so that they could come back and check their sample portfolio at a later time.
Partner Portal: Derivium also wanted to allow partner financial-service firms to package the Derivium site as part of their own offerings. Langtech worked with Landor Associates to ensure that these branding needs were considered and created a separate password-protected entrance to allow partners to create sample accounts and portfolios for their clients.
Current Status
Langtech launched the site on time and on budget. We are continually working with Derivium to update their site to provide their customers and partners with greater online functionality.
