Wells Fargo Kiosk

(http://www.wellsfargo.com) Wells Fargo was looking for a method to link their customer in-branch experience with their online banking solutions. Secondarily, Wells Fargo wanted to develop an alternative channel for providing targeted marketing messages to customers in the branches. Wells Fargo approached Langtech to develop a secure, scalable and robust kiosk that could eventually be located in all of its 2000+ branches.

Langtech developed a solution that was stable, secure, scalable, affordable, and could support remote monitoring and management by using Microsoft's new .NET framework as the basis for both the server- and client-side application development. We created a centralized .NET Web-services server to provide information to and accept information from the kiosks. Langtech continues to provide website, hosting, and network services for over 3000 kiosks at all of their branches nation-wide.

Visa Toolkit

As a major sponsor of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2007 Rugby World Cup, Visa International wanted two private extranets to provide assets and guidelines for the creation and submission of all sponsorship materials. In conjunction with Landor Associates, Langtech created the site framework along with linkages to all associates systems. The sites boast an extensive content management system with multi-lingual support.

US Sports Camps

In 2000, US Sports Camps, America's Largest Sports Camp Network and the licensed operator of The NIKE Sports Camps, was growing rapidly and recognized that they need to leverage the web in order to improve the efficiency of new camp sign-ups. Langtech worked with Sports Camps to design and implement a new e-commerce website that would allow potential campers to browse camps of interest and complete the registration process. Further, Langtech integrated the site into their internal processes so that incoming camper and registration information automatically was added to their internal accounting system. As a result of the introduction of the web as a sales channel and the integration to internal systems, Sports Camps realized a very large increase in their business and a large increase in operating efficiency. Langtech continues to partner with Sports Camps to constantly improve their external and internal application operations. In addition, Langtech's managed services group has recently migrated all of their offices and associated servers to the cloud using our PolarisCloud solution which has greatly improved their systems management across their offices.

Burrill Exchange

Burrill & Company, a prominent private equity firm in San Francisco with a global presense, was in need of a very secure, safe and robust email system. Langtech's team developed a plan that ensured there was no single point of failure in the environment and suggested a proactive, end-to-end solution to protect Burrill from damaging elements such as spam, spyware, malware etc. The resulting MS Exchange 2007 clustered solution together with a Symantec product suite for protection exceeded Burrill's expectation level.

Backshop

Backshop Inc. is leading provider of software underwriting tools in the commercial securities and real estate markets, CMS.com's business needs included a scalable web hosting and database platform with hardware/software redundancy and an emphasis on performance, stability, and uptime. To address these requirements, Langtech successfully implemented a VMWare ESX virtual server environment with blade servers acting as host systems and shared storage housing the virtual machines. The VMWare cluster features automated High Availability in the event of hardware failure and is housed in a Co-location facility with guaranteed power, cooling, security, and internet connectivity.

Thomas McNerney

Thomas McNerney is a successful venture capital firm with locations in Minneapolis, Stamford and San Francisco. The firm came to Langtech with complaints about slow email, latency when accessing centralized documents and a general dissatisfaction with their IT systems. Langtech performed an in-depth analysis of their systems and interviewed key stakeholders for additional information. As a result, Langtech replaced the existing Microsoft Small Business Server with a VMware ESX environment and dedicated virtual file servers. This proved so successful that Langtech is now managing the IT systems in Minneapolis and is providing remote support for all three locations.

Farralon Geographics

Farallon Geographics is a San Francisco based firm that came to Langtech with the need to replace 10+ servers. They also cited their need to quickly deploy new servers for testing and development purposes. Langtech recommended a VMware solution for several reasons; it had a lower up front cost than purchasing 10+ new servers, it lowered long-term maintenance costs, and it provided flexibility for company growth in the foreseable future. Farralon Geographics has grown and added more servers since the project's initial implementation in the fall of 2008, yet their only new expense was the purchase of an additional hard drive for the storage system in their virtual server environment. This VMware project resulted in a cost savings of more than $10,000 for Farralon Geographics.
