Software Project Manager

Langtech is seeking an Agile Project Manager (APM) responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating Agile and traditional software development teams. The APM’s goals are to achieve a high level of performance and quality and to deliver Agile projects that provide exceptional business value to clients.

We are looking specifically for someone with experience as a Project Manager delivering software products, applications or mobile Apps.

​

The APM will be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using Agile methods in a fast-paced environment that will involve coordinating multiple local and offshore resources

Job Description

The Day-to-Day

​What You'll Do

  • Develop specifications based on client requirements 

  • Define project scope with Product Owner and development team 

  • Maintain focus on timeline and timely delivery of value 

  • Organize and lead project status meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports 

  • Manage risks and issues; correcting deviations from plans and performing delivery planning for assigned projects 

  • Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance 

  • Assist in team development; holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring team members; ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution; encouraging a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team

Who You Are

Required Qualifications​

  • Working knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment 

  • 2+ years of professional experience working with SCRUM/Agile methodologies on application development projects; 

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Project Manager managing complex, high security software product or App projects in a high-tech development environment. 

  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle 

  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams 

  • Evaluate and address complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively 

  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with customers 

  • Very effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building 

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands 

  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives and goals are reached 

  • Creative approach to problem solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view 

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration using Jira and the Microsoft Office suite of products. 

  • Strong verbal and written English required 

  • Experience working with remote teams (our teams are located in India and South America) 

  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required
