Langtech, a leading Bay Area outsourced technology company providing high-tech systems

is seeking an outstanding candidate with technical expertise, honed communications
skills, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills to join our professional
field service team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultant is responsible for all onsite service and support needs for our customers,
primarily located in the South Bay and peninsula area. This relates to all technology,
to include workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware
and software. This is a highly interactive, client facing role, so you should enjoy
working with people just as much as you enjoy working with technology.
In addition, the Consultant must be able to:
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
- Communicate to customers: keeping them informed of progress, notifying them of impending
changes or agreed outages, etc.
- Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their
business strategy and goals
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s
needs, know when an up-sell benefits all parties
- Work through a daily schedule in company Time and Billing system that has been established
through the dispatch process
- Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and
future technologies emerging in the industry
Education and Career Experience:
- BA/BS from a 4 year university or equivalent
- Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCITP, SonicWall
CSSA, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP
- Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening
and customer-care
- Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
- Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to enhance
and improve business
- Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
and you must take pride in your work
- Experience managing third party vendors and service providers
- Auditing and analysis of network infrastructures
- Previous work as an IT consultant for clients in the SMB space strongly preferred
Technical Core Requirements:
- IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications,
as well as virtual environments built on Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware
- Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL,
SharePoint, IIS, etc.
- Implement and support disaster recovery solutions
- Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers,
firewalls, and security
- Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
- Implement and support PDA solutions; BlackBerry, iPhone, etc.
- System documentation to include system reviews and recommendations
- Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress,
notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
Must have current drivers license and reliable transportation.
